week 4

earlier this week my status on fb said "our God reigns. he's conquered the grave. there is hope in his name. he's coming again. our God reigns."

as people began clicking the "like" button some of the people that "liked" it surprised me. this got me thinking... if all those people "like" that particular status what is holding them back from sharing what they believe?

i learned recently that everything i've gone through in life will someday be used to further God's kingdom. every bad decision i've made, every experience that i've had in life will some how be used to share the love of an amazing God. my testimony, everything that has made me who i am right now will be used for His glory.

if every one of those people that "liked" my status would say something about their faith. our school would be worlds different. if everyone would take a stand for what they believe in and chose to be different from everyone else, things would change. if you believe that there is a God who thinks you are the most beautiful thing alive, then show it. if you believe that He loved you enough to take the beating, stabbing, mocking, and nails through his hands and feet to hang on a tree, then live like you believe it.

if you believe it. live it... out loud for the world to see.

week 1

to everyone out there that is a best friend.
somehow this week it was brought to my attention that everyone needs a best friend. everyone needs someone that is always there for them no matter what. someone that will listen to you rant about whatever is on your mind. someone that knows all the little things about you that make you who you are. being a best friend means telling someone that you are always there for them. so be a best friend. tell them that you will always listen. always be their shoulder to cry on. dont let your best friend forget that she/he is loved. be the best friend that wouldn't ever want anything to be wrong between you and your best friend and if it is your going to fix it ASAP. tell your best friends that you love them and keep it as a promise. because everyone needs a best friend.

2011

i decided a few days ago that i was going to make myself a couple of realistic new years resolutions and try to keep them for the whole year... this could potentially fail just like very other year that they have but i have this new determination to accomplish them. here they are:
1. blog at least once a week
2. workout 1-2 times per week (maybe more.. who knows if it will even happen)
those are the main two there may be some smaller ones later on but for now i feel like these two are enough.

welcome to spring

yesterday was the first day of spring. guess what?? it snowed. after a freezing winter that seemed endless we had some days that were 60 degrees and higher. but on the first day of spring we were greeted with about 4 inches of snow. this winter really does seem never ending. at this point in time i have dug out my winter coat again and maybe someday i will officially be able to put it away for spring and summer. for now though its back to jeans, hoodies and warm shoes.

homecoming is coming

You can officially say that now the homecoming buzz has started around school. Everyone is putting their groups together and buying dresses. Its exciting I am pretty excited myself but when people get dramatic is when it gets annoying. Though i am just getting excited for the dance and to have a fun night with all of my friends. The excitement of getting a pretty dress and looking different than everyday is just really exciting for some people and even though i am not FREAKING out about those little details i am excited to get dressed up for a night :) this is going to be a pretty great halloween.

change?

It didn't occur to me until i was trying to push my way through the crowded hallways of Northwest. The friendly hugs and smiles i got from my friends seemed usual but something was different. I couldn't tell you what it was but something was definitely different. I went to my classes as usual, sat with the same people at lunch got a very normal thing to eat and continued my day trying to put my finger on the one thing that was different today. Finally it hit me, smacked me in the face and lit a lightbulb in my head. People were changing. High school had changed my friends. High school changed them into people that i didn't even know. They were now people who cared about everything, boys and beauty and everything else. These people that have changed were my friends, now we're just sort of acquaintances. see each other in the halls and smile but never actually talk. The people who i considered my good friends in middle school were now going in different directions, each of them on their own path. Some this way and others that. I guess i just didn't think that it would all happen so fast. but we are here and i have my friends and i have my acquaintances. I will continue to work for those acquaintances to work back into friendships
